2013/10/24

B&C Technologies was recently recognized as a member of the 2013 Class of Florida Companies to Watch, an honor presented by GrowFL at the University of Central Florida in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation. In its 3rd year, Florida Companies to Watch celebrates second-stage growth companies for their impressive employment rates and revenue growth.

B&C Technologies, the industry leader in commercial/industrial laundry equipment, joined 49 other awardees at a ceremony late last week in Orlando hosted by GrowFL. The winning companies are selected not only for their growth, but also for entrepreneurial leadership, product innovation, social/community responsibility and competitive business practices.

“It is an honor to be a recipient of this award and to be in such great company with the other 49 awardees,” commented Mr. Bengt Bruce, President of B&C Technologies. Bruce added “We believe that the Panama City area is a great place to do business and we look forward to continued growth.”

The combined impact of the 50 companies selected this year is immense. In 2012 alone, the companies generated $388 million in total annual revenue and held 1,865 full-time equivalent employees. The companies collectively project the creation of 429 net new jobs for 2013. From 2009 through 2012, these companies generated $1.1 billion in revenue and added 940 employees (both in Florida and out of state), reflecting a 126% increase in revenue and 102% increase in jobs for the four-year period.

Representatives from the Bay Economic Development Alliance were also in attendance at the awards event, last week, to cheer on B&C Technologies. “This company is a great example of the dynamic businesses that we have here in Bay County that create employment opportunities for our residents and contribute to the local economy,” said Neal Wade, Executive Director of the Bay Economic Development Alliance.
